Pull Up a Chair, I’ll Tell You a Story:

Hi, I’m Amanda — and this is where an addicting love of mahjong, organization, and my home community became The Clover Table!

My curiosity about the game first sparked years ago while watching the military wives on base gather for their mahjong clubs during my husband’s time in the Air Force. I was drawn to the laughter, the connection, and the rhythmic clack of the tiles long before I ever learned to play myself.

Around that same time, I began reading about the cognitive benefits of mahjong and how organizations like the Alzheimer’s Association highlight mentally engaging games as powerful support for long-term brain health. With a strong family history of memory loss, I was sold.

What I quickly discovered was that mahjong is the perfect blend of strategy, rhythm, and just a tiny bit of competitive thrill (yes, I do have that gene!). I love the independence of the game, the suspense of building a hidden hand, and watching a table come to life. As someone who genuinely loves organization and beautiful order, mahjong appeals to me on so many levels.

And let’s be honest… it’s also just plain fun. And addicting. Oh. So. Addicting! (Fair warning.)

In 2024, I launched Jade & Jokers Mahjong in Highland Village, Texas, near Flower Mound, the community I’ve happily called home for over 26 years. As a recent empty nester and the owner of Clover Organizing, I saw firsthand how many women were craving connection, laughter, and a place to gather.

I kept thinking, “Mahjong can fix this and bring us together!” And much to my delight, it did. Watching strangers become friends and rediscover fun and connection around the table is the heart behind this vision.

What began as a small offering quickly grew into a vibrant community. Since 2024, more than 300 learners and guests have joined the table to learn, laugh, and play together…which still amazes me.

As the gatherings grew, so did my vision. I wanted a name that truly reflected the heart of the experience — people coming together around a welcoming table. And so, The Clover Table was born. Even though we are based in Highland Village near Flower Mound, we welcome guests from across North DFW.

Today, The Clover Table remains centered on that original spark: teaching clearly, encouraging generously, and creating a warm, beautifully hosted space where guests can gather, connect, and fall in love with mahjong — one joyful hand at a time.

I’d love to sit with you at the table and play… I promise to let you win. The first time. 😉
